Élyse is a new modern French Vietnamese restaurant located in downtown San Jose, CA. We aim to bring you a new experience in upscale fine dining. Please join us every Friday & Saturday from 7pm to 11pm for our soft opening now through August. We plan on having an official grand opening some time in August. There are multiple convenient parking lots as well as street parking for your convenience. Thanks for stopping by and we can't wait for you to try out our food and drinks!

Thank you to everyone who came out to help on Mother’s Day 💐🌺🌸🌼🌹 It was especially beautiful to see many of the volunteers being Mothers themselves, bringing their own children and family to help single Moms, unhoused mothers, and moms of domestic violence and their children feel love on this very special day.

There was not a volunteer too young (our youngest helper was 5 years old), or a Vice President of a company who was too important, or many teenagers who were too busy. TOGETHER we made floral arrangements and provided over 300 meals to single moms and their children. If our moms were still alive together, they would be proud knowing we were able to make many Mothers and their children happy on this day and that some Moms who were facing some of the toughest time financially, emotionally and physically were not forgotten 💕

What was on the menu? Grilled Pork Lemongrass Vermicelli w/ Mixed Veggies and Crab Shrimp Tofu Vermicelli Soup. As always, we only serve what we would eat ourselves 😋😋😋 Until the next distribution 💪💪💪

We’re blessed to be back and our commitment remains the same as it has been for the past three (3) years. Mother’s Day is the busiest and most profitable day for a restauranteur, but ever since the passing of our moms, we vowed to never make money on this day, to give back and honor the outstanding mothers who are still with us. This year, in honor of Stephen Coates’s mom, Susan Coates and my mother, Duong Tran (May they Rest In Peace), we kindly invite all the single mothers and their kid(s) to register and dine at our newest location completely complimentary.

Thank you to United Wholesale Flowers for the discount: ALL mothers will also be gifted a floral arrangement made by our volunteers. Please share with a single mother who could use this small break, who deserves to be rewarded and feel just as important.

Your registration is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation from us. We will also be donating meals and florals off-site to unhoused mothers and their children. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to [email protected].

If anyone has any vases and sturdy cardboard boxes (easier to transport and carry) they no longer need or want, please drop off at our restaurant or contact us and we’ll have someone pick them up. Thank you and an early Happy’s Mother’s Day to all the hard-working Mamas out there! 🌹🌷💐🌺🌸🌼

You’re never too young to make a difference.

Super proud of our kiddos, with the youngest being 3 years old and oldest being 10. Each kid formed into an assembly line and helped packaged hundreds of meals to serve shelters and families in need.

Special shout out to my second oldest, Connor (8). Today is Cinco De Mayo and also his birthday and he was the happiest making a difference.

Thank you Rose Foong for the bell peppers and onions, Kelly L'Amora Hamilton for the containers and distribution, Kathy Lee and all of her family members who helped from beginning to end, Bill Maruyama for tackling all the tortillas and Jasper Sra and our executive chef, Kennole Wong who did all the shopping, prepping and cooking, and for the first time, we had a team of very serious YOUNG volunteers. Andddd we’re backkkk!!! 🥳🥳🥳 Elyse Restaurant is officially Re-Opened!

A THOUSAND, MILLION, TRILLION THANK YOUs to everyone and the community for their patience and support. It’s hard to believe that just a little more than 3 years ago, we suffered a terrible economic and emotional loss. From being shut down for 363 days due to the pandemic, violent rioters/looters smashing our windows, orders of open and shut, open and shut, a burglary, a flood, losing our lease to a developer, unable to sell our business without a lease and faced losing everything we built in the last 7 years, but of course, NOTHING, NOTHING WAS WORSE than losing our mother to a sudden cardiac arrest, AND THEN 6 months later, losing our 5 months old son. What we have learned in the last couple of years is, except for death, everything else is attainable, so here we are, BACK, STRONGER 💪, BIGGER, and MORE GRATEFUL than ever!

TEMPORARY CLOSED

Dear Valued Customers,

We’re excited to announce the temporary closing of our current location. We will be moving into our NEW location, located on 98 S First Street San Jose, CA (we’re currently on Second Street), literally just around the corner 🙂 Elyse 2.0 will be TWICE as big with an open kitchen, patio seatings and A LOT of new updates. Stay tune as we aim to re-open at our new location coming soon.

You may still contact us at [email protected] for any private events/catering at this current location (151 S Second St. San Jose, CA) until the end of June. And YES, we expect to open reservations up for Father’s Day to bring you one last dining experience of what has been our home for the last 7 years. Thank you for your continuous support! For the past 7 years, we have always been fully committed on Valentine’s Day and being “too busy” on this day can be a bit overwhelming for both customers and staff. This year, we like to slow things down a bit and only open our restaurant to last minute reservations so there isn’t too large of a crowd, no huge rush, all equaling to a more intimate Valentine’s Day dining experience.

Below is the prix-fixe menu and a few surprises we will provide complimentary 😉 A complimentary photography session will be taken right in front of our Eiffel Tower for every couples, singles, and friends. 💕 Happy Valentine’s Day 💕
