This last month has felt more like a country song than original folk. The espresso machine broke down and took 30% of our sales with it. Electric and water works. Staff getting sick. Josh’s longest day clocked in at 22 hours (no joke, 6am to 4am). Saying goodbye to our beloved Ambie (who will get a proper tribute later). Through all of it, when we sit on the floor in the kitchen before bed and wonder, how are we still doing this, the thing that shines is: you. Josh will tell me about regulars who sit in the garden as they navigate their lives. He’ll reiterate his mission and how much it all means. Beautiful music and art. Open mic. Cafe friends who keep showing up and supporting, your appreciation for the kitchen wizardry. This is a season. Fingers crossed, at some point we’ll serve fully, the way we love to again.
