Rigolo Is Now Closed: the end of the Rigolo era…

With a heavy heart we announce that Rigolo closed its doors permanently this past Saturday, Aug 29th. We had a fantastic 16 year run as the “most kid-friendly café in San Francisco”, and as the favorite neighborhood hang-out spot, but Covid made it too hard to keep the doors open for a concept build entirely around indoor dining. Thanks for your wonderful support, we were lucky to have such loyal customers.
Also thank you to all who made the effort to come to Rigolo during the last 2 days we were open. Friday & Saturday were our busiest days since indoor dining closed in mid-march! We appreciate the effort that so many people made to come in for a last visit. We loved the positive messages we received on Nextdoor, by email & in person. Several customers, including adults & children were crying. We were so touched by the outpouring of support!
Our last 5 remaining employees have now lost their jobs, so we have relaunched our GoFundMe to help pay severance for these employees. If you are able, please consider donating at http://gf.me/u/xrmzrz. Thanks for your generosity.
We are saving 2 jobs by bringing Erick & Angel over to our sister restaurant Artesano, where each will pick up 2 shifts. Fortunately, Artesano is still open, and hopefully we can make it through the pandemic. Please help Artesano survive by visiting us often, and by telling your friends, neighbors and family about Artesano.
