Fishermen's Grotto opened in 1935 as the first sit-down restaurant on San Francisco's world-famous F The restaurant features inside and outside dining.

Founded by Mike Geraldi, an immigrant fisherman from Sicily, as an avenue to deliver his fresh catch to the local population. While indulging on your favorite seafood dish, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Russian Hill and the Fishing Fleet and Harbor. Four generations of the Geraldi family have been serving only the freshest Italian-style seafood since. Specialties include:
Dungeness Crab, Crab Louis, Crab Ciopinno, Clam Chowder, Lobster Thermidor, Salmon, Halibut and more; all served with Fresh Sourdough Bread. Members of The Geraldi Family are still around and more than willing to help anyone(s) who might want to save Fishermen’s Grotto from the same fate as our neighbors.

Knocking down an iconic restaurant and building a plaza are the centerpiece of a $10 million package of improvements for Fisherman’s Wharf that will include the lighting of the lagoon.

I make our Boston Clam Chowder a few times per year. Based on feedback from friends, family, colleagues, strangers and my own tastebuds I would say I’ve just about perfected it.

Also, made Sole Marguery for dinner tonight. Man, was it delicious! 😋 Who remembers this dish?
