Another step in our sustainability journey. Christy and the Mount Zion Cafe team are getting ready to go back to reusable dishes in the Mount Zion Cafe tomorrow for our dine in customers. It is a great collaboration between UCSF Nutrition and Food Services and UCSF Health Sustainability to build the plan!

We are doing our part to raise awareness for food insecurity on World Food Day in addition our food recovery. We've partnered with Bay Cities Produce, Inc. and 5 local farms to create Giving Greens bags for $5 all week. Proceeds from the bags or donations go to support UCSF Medical Center Social Work meal programs.

We are proud to announce that we have eliminated single-use plastic bottled water from all retail and patient food service operations across 3 campuses- effectively reducing 150,000 plastic bottles. We are thankful for the support of our customers, RNs, and patients. We sell Proud Source water in our cafes and coffee shops that offer the convenience of bottled water in a reusable and recyclable aluminum container. Proud Source Water
