We have to say, the churro process is quite mesmerizing 😍

The dough is shaped into loops, then dropped into the frying oil. We wait as they bubble, turning the right amount of golden brown. When they are ready, we gather them and remove them from the oil. Then they are ready to enjoy plain, or with the sweet toppings of your choice.

As the days cool down, a crisp, crunchy churro always pairs well with a warm coffee or drinking chocolate. Salud!

How did churros get their name? Some historians say that the Spanish churro is a descendant of a Chinese pastry called youtiao. The story also goes that the name for the pastry was supposedly inspired by the ridged horns of the native Churra sheep, an aesthetic which the fried treat takes after.
