food & wine named san francisco one of the top cities for coffee in 2026 — and mentioned abanico as part of what makes this city’s scene so global. 🖤
that line means a lot to us. latin american coffee, right alongside yemeni and indonesian flavors, in a city built on exactly that kind of diversity.
those are morro seeds next to the latte — a nod to el salvador, where so much of what we do begins.

I was at a specialty coffee festival in Japan last week. And then I saw El Salvador on the menu.
Watching Japanese roasters — some of the most technically gifted in the world — choose Salvadoran beans and treat them with extraordinary care stopped me completely.
El Salvador’s coffee deserves this recognition. The altitude, the processing, the people behind it — it produces something genuinely special. Japan knows it. I’ve always known it.
Japan’s specialty coffee scene is unlike anything I’ve experienced — the precision, the reverence for craft, the quiet intention behind every cup. I came home inspired and more certain than ever about why origin matters in everything we do at Abanico.
