As we celebrate Women's History Month, it's important to recognize the significant contributions women have made to the restaurant industry. From culinary pioneers to restaurant owners and managers, women have played a vital role in shaping the industry we know today.

One woman who has made significant contributions to the industry is Lori Baker. Lori Baker's career as a pastry chef began at Johnson & Wales University, where she earned a degree in Pastry Arts. She went on to work in some of San Francisco's top restaurants, including Postrio, Bix, Gordon's House of Fine Eats, Fifth Floor, and Home Restaurant.

In addition to her work in restaurants, Lori may be best known for the beloved Baker & Banker restaurant, which fed hungry San Franciscans for five years beginning in 2009, and its adjacent bakery, which specialized in American desserts and breakfast pastries.

As we celebrate Women's History Month, let's take the time to recognize and honor the contributions of women like Lori Baker, who have made significant strides in their field and paved the way for future generations of women in the culinary arts.
