family run business serving the freshest and best-priced sushi in the Castro...and possibly the city! While we fear sharing this hidden treasure, we also want the wonderful folks who work at Warakubune to reap the rewards of their fast and friendly service, selective offerings of only the freshest, seasonal sushi, and great prices. The tempting boats of colorful and tasty sushi are replenished continuously, but you can order directly from the chefs or wait staff. Menus are also available offering appetizers, entrees, donburi, ramen & udon soba. Beer, wine, sake & soft drinks are offered with complimentary hot tea and water. Seating is usually plentiful the first and last hour of operation. Regulars love ordering the "House Special Roll" (shrimp tempura, avocado, crab, seaweed, teriyaki sauce, spicy sauce), 3 large pieces per plate! Chef Ben's homemade ankimo (monk fish liver) or house marinated saba (mackerel) melt in your mouth; and the uni (sea urchin) when in season will have your eyes roll to the back of your head.
