Responsibilities
Assist in meal preparation by chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Cook and assemble menu items following established recipes and presentation standards
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
Support food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety of all dishes served
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently to keep the kitchen stocked and organized
Follow proper food storage practices to prevent contamination and waste
Help with catering setups and serving when needed for special events or large orders
Experience
Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are valued above all
Basic knife skills and familiarity with food preparation techniques are advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and handling procedures is a plus
Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide can be beneficial for understanding specialized meal requirements
Previous kitchen experience involving menu planning or meal preparation is desirable but not mandatory
Strong attention to detail, ability to work quickly under pressure, and team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role
