We’ve had a few days to process our closure and couldn’t end on such a generic note.
It took nearly two years to conceive, build and open Mr. Digby’s. And a mere two days to dismantle it all. It was quite a surreal experience.
Closing our business has left us with many feelings. We are sad, humbled, slightly humiliated and disappointed that we let everyone down.
Despite all of this, we still feel proud of what we accomplished. Maybe at another junction in our lives we could have figured out how to make it work, but it wasn’t in the cards for us at this time.
Although we’re feeling pretty down right now, Mr. Digby’s was a positive experience overall. And that is all thanks to our customers, our neighbors and most importantly, our staff. We owe big THANK YOUs to Chef Mike Ocampo, Chef Kirsten Goldberg & Chef Andy Liang. To GM & Bar Manager Justin Mitchell. Kitchen Manager Angel & right hand (wo)man, Teresa. And to many key employees who have been with us from nearly the beginning: Ivette, Brashard, Frankie, Sarah, Akemi, Jaime, Hector & Jorge.
It will take us a while to fully process this, and we hope that the next operator will bring something special to our neighborhood.
And, Mr. Digby, you are still a good boy!
