Feeling incredibly grateful and proud to still be included on this list after it was updated today.

El Buen Comer has always been about home-style Mexican cooking, family, community, and sharing the food we grew up with here in San Francisco. To be recognized alongside so many amazing restaurants in the city means a lot to us.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us from the farmers market days to our little spot on Mission Street. We’re excited, humbled, and more motivated than ever to keep doing what we love.

For those who know my dad, Juan Carlos Caudillo, you know how much love he’s put into El Buen Comer and the Noe Valley Farmers Market since 2008. It’s been his life, his pride, and his way of bringing people together through food.

Recently, he suffered a serious kitchen injury and won’t be able to work for a while. With medical bills and time away from the market, this has been really tough on him and our family.

If you’ve ever stopped by the stand, shared a meal, or had a conversation with him, we’d truly appreciate any support during this time. Thank you for keeping him in your thoughts and for always showing our family love.
