Jasmine tea has a rich history in China, and monks of the Song Dynasty sipped it more than 1,000 years ago, both while meditating and pretending to meditate. Soda has a slightly less rich history in America, and kids from your local elementary school sipped it while playing handball. Epic game. But when cultures mix, delicious things happen. That’s why an incredibly small percentage of your purchase will support monks learning to play handball.

Wine and beer are finally pouring in Palo Alto. It took a minute, but it was worth the wait.

Craft beer and cider from Taiwanese microbrewery Ugly Half , the Side of Rice Lager from yours truly alongside our friends at , and a few California wines we’re excited to be serving.

To celebrate, we’ve got $5 beer and $9 glasses of wine from 4–9pm every day in February.

Stop by and see us for a drink this month šŸ»

Red envelopes are back šŸ“šŸ”„

Starting today, every Mamahuhu order (delivery, dine-in, and takeout) comes with a little gift - a 3-pack of custom hóngbāo designed by Brooklyn-based artist Gabrielle Widjaja (.oriental ).

Stuff them with cash for the kids, hang them on your wall, or just appreciate that 2026 is a Fire Horse year and won’t happen again until 2086. Your grandkids (or great-grandkids, or great-great-grandkids) will appreciate the vintage swag.

Available with orders while supplies last, starting 1/17.

Chinese cuisine is vast. Like, really vast. Which means if you love a dish, there’s probably a dozen other versions using the same ingredient you haven’t tried yet. Welcome to If You Like This— a series where we take one ingredient and follow it across the Bay Area. First up: tofu.

Good babka doesn’t just happen. It takes three days, a lot of laminating, and Loquat pastry chef Kristina Costa doing what she does best.

Kristina is the the pastry brain behind our red bean sesame babka, and we’re lucky to be able to bring it to you at Mamahuhu.

The last batches are already proofing. If you’ve been meaning to try it, now’s your last chance.

Our perfect winter morning starts with a little something sweet and a great cup of coffee. That’s the whole idea behind the babka tin.

When it comes to coffee, Four Barrel really does something special. So when Tal chose the Kenya Karagoto, we got very excited that it pairs so perfectly with the Red Bean Sesame Babka. Tal walked us through Four Barrel’s roastery to show us how it’s done.

Pick up a bag of Kenya Karagoto coffee in the Babka Tin, available at all Mamahuhu restaurants, before this collab is another piece of Chinese-Jewish Christmas history.

Every great dish has an origin story. The rangoon’s involves a Burmese city, imitation crab, and the 1950s tiki bar scene. Our rangoon’s story involves the award-winning Humboldt Fog goat cheese from . The Humboldt Fog Rangoon is sticking around a little bit longer - come get it before it’s gone!

Cypress Grove makes some of the best goat cheese out there. Humboldt Fog is one of those beauties that has won awards and wowed palates for years. So when we were thinking through how we could have some fun with the beloved rangoon, Humboldt Fog became the move. This uniquely Californian cheese takes a dish everyone knows and turns it into a tiny, handheld cheese board with our sweet and sour riding shotgun.

Big shoutout to the lovely folks at !
