About BAIA
Baia restaurant, a collaboration between celebrity chef Matthew Kenney and Tracy Vogt, founder of Charlie’s Acres is located in the trendy and distinctive Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. The building was the home of Jardiniere, Traci des Jardins’ restaurant for 21 years, making this an iconic San Francisco foodie landmark.
Baia is a plant-based Italian inspired concept offering full-service dining, seven days a week, in an upscale capacity. The restaurant holds 170+ seats and provides dinner, weekend brunch and full-bar service. The menu is comprised of craft cocktails, beer/wine, seasonal vegetables, and comfort italian dishes. Diners can expect to see their favorite Italian classics reinvented with plant-based cheeses, pastas, and “meats.”
Baia (the Italian word for “bay”) aims to offer an exceptional dining experience to all diners; regardless of whether they are vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, or meat-eaters. The aspiration is to be known for being delicious Italian inspired comfort food served in a chic but approachable setting.
Matthew Kenney, James Beard-nominated chef and owner of several restaurants around the world, is one of the leading chefs at the forefront of plant-based cuisine. He is an author of 12 cookbooks and a best-selling memoir, a culinary educator and CEO of Matthew Kenney Cuisine. Kenney and his team developed the menu and oversee all operations of the restaurant.
