We're gearing up for our final week of service!

We've heard you, and now it's time for us to take action- we're taking advantage of the holiday lull to do an extended closure and make upgrades to our machine. By closing down we'll actually have the time to make much-needed improvements to its autonomy and efficiency before we open up again in the spring!

Our final day of service will be this Friday, Dec. 16, and for the rest of the week we'll operate as normal (Tues-Fri, 11-8:30 pm).

What's Mezli like behind the light blue curtain? We've mentioned before that we've got some sensitive IP we're trying to keep under wraps, but here's a glimpse of what's going on: It's like a little food factory, an autonomous assembly line, if you will, of robotic bowl assembly, made to order.

What's important to you about what you eat?
At Mezli, we care just as much about the quality of the food and its ingredients as we do about its price and convenience. It's hard to find a place that checks all three of those boxes, but we're definitely trying! What else is on your list of must-haves for dining out?

Hope you're taking time this week for gratitude and spending time with people you love. ๐Ÿฆƒ ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—

Weโ€™ll be closed November 20-28 to give our team some time to spend with family, and will be resuming Tuesday service November 29th.

When we first started building the menu for Mezli, we thought a lot about what we knew-- being students and young professionals with limited time and money who just wanted something easy and healthy to eat. But as we've grown from our prototype and test kitchen to our autonomous location in "the wild", we've started to see children ordering for themselves, and families walking off with stacks of bowls to take home and eat together. It's been amazing to watch other people enjoying what we've built, and hearing how it fills a need for them as well.

We've got some kinks to work out still, of course. The pick up process is a bit flawed, and the ordering software is a bit confusing, but as we make our way into this season of gratitude, we'd like to just say thanks to all of you who have tried us out, and especially to those of you who keep coming back.

As we're slipping into colder weather, we certainly agree with the great poet Edith Sitwell that it's "the time for good food and warmth." Hope ya'll are staying cozy out there, and when you need good food, you know we've got you ๐Ÿฅฃ

Rough Halloween leave you hankering for a little pick-me-up? Pick up Mezli for lunch tomorrow!๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŽƒ

Whether you're fighting off a migraine left by the banshee screeches of little trick-or-treaters, or a bit of a hangover from too much Witch's Brew, we're happy to take meal prep off of your plate ๐Ÿฅ˜๐Ÿ˜œ

To everyone, hope your day has been spooktacular ๐Ÿ‘ป

"Why aren't there any windows?"

It's up there on on our most frequently asked questions. First off, it's actually a giant fridge ๐Ÿ˜ถ, secondly, and perhaps most relevantly, we have some IP we're waiting on patents for, so we're not quite ready to show everything off just yet ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ‘

On the "Tech" page of our website there's a video of a bowl being made (it obscures our Secret Stuff ๐Ÿ˜‰). It's not super sexy. It's not a humanoid robot, or some SciFi S**t, it's like... a little food factory.

Picture whirring conveyor systems and food dispensed into bowls before being pushed through an oven to finish the cooking and crisp it on the outside. At the end of the line, sauce is pulsed out through a dispenser and the bowl is garnished with crunchy Israeli Salad, pickled onions or tangy cabbage slaw before it's loaded into the locker for you to pick up from the pick up lockers at the end. There, in the only sort-of windows we have in the machine, once the glass turns clear, you'll see your bowl appear!

What goes into a bowl? Some innovators' ideals, a chef's vision, farmers' produce, cooks' labor, transporters' logistical efforts, and some engineering magic โœจ

Really, when you think about it, the concept isn't so odd. The sort of hub-and-spoke commissary kitchen model is being used by most of the titans of the food industry -- we're just the ones talking about it ;) And of course, we've got robotics at the end instead of a human scooping food, and that's what allows us to offer the prices we do.

What questions can we answer? We're looking to pull back the curtain a bit, and de-mystify. Things are most intimidating when they're not yet understood.
