A new coffee is coming to Le Mil’s.

We had to blind taste it! Alisha did a fantastic job of hosting a cupping session. Everyone tasted 4 different coffees/blends and scored the coffee on the 100 point scale established by the specialty coffee association.

This was so much fun, we’re thinking of making it a tasting experience for guests too. Would you be interested in coffee cupping experience?

Weekend hours are now 8 am to 4 pm!

Starting 10/3. Only on weekends.

A lot of you told us that the hours should be extended so people coming from far can get to spend enough time at their favorite café. We hear you and we are now open till 4 pm on weekends. Let your friends know!

Caught a glimpse of CoRo Coffee Room Tim, in the middle of his presentation to the UC Berkeley grads. His philosophy behind Coro and what’s important to him.. his dream was to build a place where the world’s best coffee can be roasted. theft in the cafe at 7:10 am this morning. Thankfully our barista is okay. But we very alarmed because this is now 5th such incident. In one such incident a drink was hurled at our barista. We are concerned for our baristas and guests safety.

Can our Polk st neighbors help us identify who these people are so we can report the incident to proper authorities.

The pink panther!

One of our signature low-caf drink at Le Mil’s coffee. It’s made with Cascara, Indian mangosteen (kokam), Hibiscus in tonic base. Covered with a blanket of Coconut cream cold foam and a dash of butterfly pea powder. It’s sweet, tart, creamy and refreshing 😊

We decided to make this drink because of cascara. What is cascara? It’s dried skin of the coffee fruit. It’s sweet, tangy, has more antioxidants than the bean and only 20mg caffeine per cup!

In washed processed coffee, the skin is considered waste and is often thrown away or used as manure. We always knew the day we have a cafe we are going to change that and recognize cascara for what it is. A superfood. Cascara is not only delicious but also a healthy drink!

Alisha is going to roast the next batch of Le Mil’s coffee beans! And she takes full responsibility for the quality🫡

Alisha has been working with us from day one of the Cafe. She’s not only an excellent Barista but also has ton of knowledge on roasting, cupping, Q grading and overall quality in specialty coffee.

We are so lucky to have her and super excited to try the beans from her first ever roast with our beans! Get a bag from this next roast It’s on lemils.com or try them at our coffee shop.

Vegan lassi!

Made in Oakland by two engineer friends… Sidd & Chris used the same bacteria that turns dairy milk into yogurt and released it in soy milk. Result? Tasty vegan lassi!

We met Chris of Gopala Foods at Mainstay Markets where we used to do popups and give coffee samples. He was at the exact same spot giving us a sample of “vegan lassi”

We didn’t even know lassi could be vegan, let alone be so delicious! We had decided to feature their tasty vegan drinks on the spot.

We are so happy that day has finally come. Chris is making a fresh batch today just for us. You can get their vegan mango and rose lassi at Le Mil’s Coffee this weekend.
