Hodad’s has been recognized as one of the top 5 burger joints in the country by CNN! This Ocean Beach surf shack with the amazing Burgers and Huge milkshakes was also featured on Food Networks Diner's Drive-Ins & Dives. There is a strong argument for it being the Greatest Burger in the World. Come try one for yourself and see. In 1969, Byron and Virginia Hardin began serving them up in Hodad’s first location, on the beach at the end of Santa Monica Avenue in Ocean Beach. In 1991, after several moves, Hodad’s opened at it’s present location in the heart of Ocean Beach’s Newport Ave. Hodad’s is now in the hands of third generation family member, Shane Hardin. He’s the son of the famous Burgermeister, Mike “Bossman” Hardin. In 2011 Hodad's opened a second location in beautiful downtown San Diego, at 10th & Broadway.
