Founded by 4 friends (Michael Blair, Rex Camerino, Trong Nguyen-Dinh & Chris Toledo), The District strives to be more than your ordinary run-of-the-mill sandwich shop. Focused on the community, each detail from service to decor was carefully chosen to make everyone that walks through our doors
feel welcomed and at home. You will be greeted by one of the owners as you walk in. We are the staff. But what is a nice friendly restaurant without delicious food? We thought about that too. We did not hire just anyone to make our sandwiches, we hired our Executive Chef/ Partner (yes, we have an actual chef), GUSTAVO TORRES, to fine tune our ingredients and deliver hand-crafted sandwiches, salads, & soups that make us a neighborhood favorite. Gustavo has an extensive restaurant background and completed his culinary degree at "The Art Institute of California - San Diego". Everything, from our sauces to our soups, are made from scratch and made fresh to order. The District is a small sandwich shop nestled in the East Village of downtown San Diego, but we look forward to growing and becoming more. We serve the local community in hopes to reach the masses. So if you ask us,"What is The District?......there is no simple answer for that. We are a concept, we are a brand..............
