San Diego Original Black Panther Party

07/12/2026

Good morning everyone,

I have been very busy recently and forgot to mention that I will be speaking today at 1:30 PM at the San Diego State University KPBS studios.

I will be discussing the late 1960s uprising that led to the defeat of Governor Ronald Reagan's plan to build a California Highway Patrol headquarters under the Coronado bridge in the heart of southeast San Diego/Barrio Logan. This historic event ultimately led to the creation of Chicano Park by the residents of Barrio Logan, Southeast san diegans and a coalition of civilians and student political activists.

If you would like to attend, please contact KPBS studio for details. I'm told the cost is twenty dollars to attend.

Best regards,
