We will be closed for maintenance from May 29th to June 8th.🛠️

Due to the closure of our patio area on May 3rd, we are adjusting tables and are in the process of determining if the patio area can still be used. Until then, there will be only indoor service and capacity will be very limited. Thank you very much for your support and we will keep you posted if there’s any updates. 👨🏽‍🍳

Today is our 6 year anniversary and we are very happy to share this milestone with everyone😆🎊

Huge thanks to all of our guests, hard working staff, suppliers, chefs from different establishments, and anyone else associated with our restaurant.

Time flies so fast and it’s been already 6 years.
Now I see many “usual faces” among our guests and sometimes this reminds me of the time when I was working at my father’s restaurant Tsurukame in Osaka (Closed with his retirement in 2024) because there, the restaurant was filled mostly with locals and returning guests. I loved it since I was cooking with my father and I wasn’t sure if my cooking would be accepted by them, especially in the beginning when I was working there.
Even though time has passed and I’m now confident with what I’m doing, the feeling of seeing the usual faces makes me feel very special. Whether it’s first time guests or returning guests, I can’t thank enough to every one of them.

We will keep serving what we believe is best and practice what we brought from Japan, and our wish is to be a place that people love to come when they want to have a good time with friends and family.

ええ波は開店から丸6年が経ちました。

毎度ながら、来ていただくお客様、共に働いてくださるスタッフの皆様、ええ波に関わって下さる全ての方々に感謝です。ありがとうございます。

アメリカで店を始めてこんなに時間が経ったのか、と不思議な気持ちです。見慣れた顔ぶれのお客様も本当に増え、サンディエゴのはずなのにかつて私が修行させて頂いた大阪の父の店、鶴亀(2024年に父の引退と共に閉店)のような雰囲気が漂うこともあります。一度来てくださったお客様が、また戻って来て下さる事が、個人的にはとても嬉しい事のひとつです。

これからも当店は皆様においしい！と言っていただける料理、また来たいと思っていただける場所を目指して精進して参りたいと思います。

改めまして、本当にありがとうございます。
これからも、ええ波をどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。

Patio closure announcement🙇🏿‍♂️

An update for our EE NAMI family 🏮

Beginning Tuesday, May 5th, our outdoor patio will be permanently closed. Due to a utility easement requirement from SDG&E, our patio storage and coverings must be immediately removed. After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to close that space entirely.

We know many of you loved dining outside, and we are truly grateful for every meal shared in that space. 🙏

The good news — our indoor dining room is cozy, full of warmth and hand-crafted food, and ready to welcome you. We will be rearranging and adding tables and chairs indoors to maximize capacity. The space may be getting smaller, but hey, it’s just like actual izakayas in Japan! We can’t wait to see you inside.🍶

As a small business owner, I really appreciate your support over the years. I will continue to do the best I can for the community.🇯🇵

木漏れ日: Komorebi (noun)

Komorebi is a Japanese word that means sunlight leaking through trees. This word describes the beauty and wonder of rays of light dappling through overhead leaves, casting dancing shadows on the forest floor.

It is already March!☀️It’s been very warm lately and we can feel the spring is just around the corner.
Our goal is to be the place where people can hang out sharing good times with good food and sake. We hope our guests can feel a little bit of the warmth of hand-crafted food that we serve, just like when Komorebi touches your skin.

Greetings from EE NAMI Family🥳

This is our 6th new year to celebrate and we are very grateful for it. Thank you very much!

Our wish for 2026 is to make all of our guests happy through our food culture from Osaka, we hope this year will be a better year for everyone!🌊

明けましておめでとうございます。

ええ波は皆様のおかげでまた一年を過ごさせていただくことが出来ました。お客様、スタッフの皆様、サポートしていただいている業者様、本当にありがとうございます。

ええ波もあっという間にもう少しで丸6年、時間の経過の早さを実感する日々です。忙しい日々を過ごすと身の回りにある小さな幸せが見えにくくなったり、「当たり前」にあるようなヒト、モノ、コトに感謝を忘れてしまいがちになるような気がします。

店としての本懐はお客様がたくさん来てくださり、賑やかにさせて頂くことよりありがたい事はありません。おいしい料理は当然、我々の故郷、日本の本物の食文化を南カリフォルニアで紹介し、お客様に喜んでいただく。今後も我々のモットーは不変であり続けたいと願っています。

それと同時に、来て下さるお客様、共に働いて下さったり、楽しい時間を一緒に過ごして下さる仲間との時間にも感謝を忘れず、日々を大切にしていきたいとも思う今日この頃です。
