Encompassing the atmosphere of a local British pub, a good selection of beer & quality food at a reasonable price, it's easy to see why Shakespeare Pub & Grille is San Diego's premier British Pub. All of our menu items are made from scratch in the British comfort food style found in most establishments across the isles. Our authentic Fish and Chips are a favorite amongst the locals & have won numerous awards over the years. We use only top quality ingredients & all of our fried foods are cooked in trans fat, cholesterol free canola. We also serve standard fare of the western world such as Burgers and Salads. Our Draught & Bottled Beers reflect the most popular brands from Britain, Ireland, mainland Europe and The U.S. and we are one of the select establishments in San Diego to have a beer engine and sell a Cask-Conditioned beer, often referred to as 'real ale', for the enjoyment of our beer connoisseurs! The decor of the establishment couples the old world, English Tudor style on the interior (albeit with large picture windows) with a patio deck wrapping the exterior.

More Than Just a Fundraiser, Giving Back to Those Who Give So Much! Last week, we were incredibly proud to host our first SDPD Crisis Volunteers Fundraiser at Shakespeare Pub, raising thousands of dollars for this very special cause. SDPD Crisis Volunteers give their time to provide immediate emotional support and assistance to people experiencing some of life’s most difficult and traumatic moments.

It was an honour to welcome Mayor Todd Gloria, Chief of Police Scott Wahl and Assistant Chief Danny Grubbs, along with everyone who joined us and supported the evening. A huge thank you to all who attended, donated, helped organise the event, and to our Shakespeare team who made the night such a success.

We’re incredibly proud to support the work of the SDPD Crisis Volunteers and look forward to making this an annual Shakespeare event. Thank you, San Diego — we’ll see you next year! ❤️.

Now the flags are down, the dust has settled, and a week has passed since England’s final match, we’ve finally had a chance to reflect on what was one of the most unforgettable five weeks in the Shakespeare’s history.

To every customer, friend, regular, and football supporter who walked through our doors during the FIFA World Cup 2026… thank you.

Together we laughed, celebrated unforgettable victories, endured heartbreaking defeats, sang far too loudly, shared countless pints, plenty of Full Monty breakfasts, and created memories that will stay with us for years to come.

This photo says it all. As staff got to let their hair down on Tuesday at their staff party.

Behind every perfectly poured pint, every award-winning fish & chips, every chant, every smile, and every unforgettable moment was this incredible team. They worked tirelessly with one goal—to give every one of you the very best World Cup experience possible—and we’re unbelievably proud of every single one of them.

🍺 The lager that’s got everyone talking…

If you’ve fallen down the Welcome to Wrexham rabbit hole, it’s time to see what all the fuss tastes like.

We’re proud to be one of the very few pubs in Southern California pouring authentic Wrexham Lager on draft. Crisp, refreshing, and brewed in Wales since 1882 – it’s a proper pint with a proper story.

And with a certain Ryan Reynolds in San Diego for Comic-Con… who knows? If we pour enough pints, perhaps he’ll fancy one at the Shakespeare. Stranger things have happened… and if Rob McElhenney tags along, we’ll happily pull him one too. 🍻

THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES, LADS. ❤️🤍

Five unforgettable weeks. Early mornings, soaring hopes, a few frayed nerves, and plenty of reasons to be PROUD TO BE ENGLISH.

Now there’s one last job to do.

Let’s send the lads home in proper English fashion—with a win, a pint in hand, and a third-place finish to toast. No sulking… that’s for Monday.
