Operation New Hope Youth Opportunity Centers

Operation New Hope Youth Opportunity Centers What we do: Out-of-school youth often seek services from community based organizations or public agencies.

ONH Youth Opportunity Centers: Specializing in life skills, vocational/career pathway education, credit recovery, behavioral modification, High School Diploma / Credit Recovery, food pantry, and array of essential life resources. Understanding the challenges of this population, Operation New Hope (ONH), in 2010, formed a successful collaboration to create a Youth Opportunity Center to provide meaningful life skill resources for disadvantaged youth. As a result, ONH was able to stimulate, sustain and engage “dropout” youth into comprehensive services in San Bernardino County. Since 2010: 5867 students have completed our Career Pathway Program, 465 have graduated with an accredited high school diploma; 83% entered employment, enrolled in higher education or technical schools.

At Operation New Hope, we believe stronger communities are built when we recognize, respect, and celebrate the people who help shape them.
We proudly honor Indigenous communities and express our gratitude for their enduring cultures, traditions, leadership, resilience, and contributions.
We see you. We honor you. We appreciate you.
Together, we move forward with respect, hope, and a shared commitment to stronger communities.

Beliefs vs. Behavior
“Your beliefs don’t make you a better person.
Your behavior does.”
What we believe matters, but how we show up, how we treat people, and what we do with those beliefs matters even more.
Always Forward, Never Back.

Today marks the start of our Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser, and we would truly appreciate your support!

The ONH Youth Advisory Board is made up of young people who are committed to growing as leaders, giving back to our community, creating meaningful opportunities for other youth, and making a positive impact.

By purchasing some delicious popcorn, you’re not only getting a tasty treat — you’re also supporting the work, ideas, and efforts of our youth. Every purchase, share, and bit of encouragement means so much to us! 🫶🏽

⛈️ Keeping the Faith ⛅️☀️
The hardest seasons of life often become the foundation for your greatest victories.
When the path feels uncertain, keep moving forward. When challenges seem overwhelming, keep believing. Every setback carries a lesson, and every struggle has the potential to shape your purpose.

Keep the faith. In time, you’ll see that the journey was worth it.
Always Forward, Never Back.

🚸 When something affects our community, we believe it’s worth speaking up.
The Operation New Hope Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is helping promote a petition calling for a safer crosswalk in our community after concerns were raised about the safety of people trying to cross the street in this area.
For us, this is about more than a crosswalk. It’s about making sure young people, families, workers, and community members can get where they need to go without having to worry about whether it’s safe to cross.
As a Youth Advisory Board, we believe part of our responsibility is using our voices to bring attention to issues that matter to the communities we serve. That’s why we’re asking our ONH family, friends, partners, and community members to help however you can.
💙 Sign the petition. Share it. Talk about it. Help spread awareness. Every bit of support helps show that community safety matters.
We’d love to have you stand with us and support this effort in whatever way you can.

💙 GRATITUDE • GROWTH • ADVOCACY • ACTION 💙
Operation New Hope is incredibly grateful to the IEHP Foundation for investing in our organization through capacity building, leadership development, and advocacy training.

Because of your support, our voices are stronger, our leaders are growing, and our impact is reaching communities across California.

Over the past two years in the Champions for Vibrant Communities cohort, we’ve celebrated remarkable milestones:
🌟 Strengthened leadership throughout the Operation New Hope team.
🌟 Growth of our emerging Leader Coach, Mario, who applied the invaluable guidance and training from Dr. Carol Geffner and Zene to help build a healthy, vibrant, and empowered team culture.
🌟 Advocacy trainers Sarah Bridge and Kelli L’Heureux helped equip our CEO, Russell Degnan Russell Degnan, with the confidence and skills to elevate our voice at the state level. That journey led to Sacramento, where he witnessed advocacy become action as the “Jails to Jobs” initiative, a policy supported by ONH, was included in the California State Budget.

To CEO Greg Bradbard Greg Bradbard and the incredible IEHP Foundation team, Deanna Hendrick, Sara Omari, Edgar Arreola, Ayla Reyes, Steve, and Jacque Casillas, thank you for believing in our mission and investing in our future.

On behalf of our staff, leadership, Board of Directors, and the communities we serve, thank you for helping us create pathways to hope, opportunity, and lasting change. Together, we are proving that when leaders are empowered, communities thrive. 🙏💙

🎓❤️ **Cohort 1 of Project Safe Neighborhood has officially completed the program!**

We closed out this incredible journey with a meaningful **Career Exploration Workshop led by Dr. Silvano J. Cardenas**, followed by a completion ceremony celebrating the hard work, growth, and dedication of our youth.

To our PSN youth: **thank you for trusting us, showing up, challenging yourselves, and giving this experience your all.** It has been an honor to watch you grow in confidence, leadership, and career readiness. We are so proud of each and every one of you! 🥹✨

To our amazing **community partners, mentors, guest speakers, and supporters** — thank you from the bottom of our hearts for investing your time, knowledge, and energy into our youth. Your support helped make this first cohort possible, and we are incredibly grateful.

But this is only the beginning! 👀

📣 **Project Safe Neighborhood Cohort 2 is NOW OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT!**

We’re excited to continue creating opportunities for young people to build leadership skills, prepare for employment, explore careers, and grow into the leaders they are capable of becoming.

**Cohort 1 made the beginning. Cohort 2 is next. ❤️**
