Saturday bookstore thoughts.

Today was filled with so many of those little moments that remind us why we love having this little bookstore.

Chatting with our regulars and meeting new faces.
Someone stopping by to drop off posters for an upcoming event of their own.
Customers asking about the new events we’re planning and getting excited right along with us.
Hearing what someone thought about the last book they picked up from us.
And one of our favorite things… watching someone walk in for the first time, look around, and say, “It’s so cute here.”

None of these moments may seem like a big deal from the outside, but to us, they’re everything.

They’re the conversations, the recommendations, the feedback, the excitement, the familiar faces, and the new ones. They’re the little connections that make owning a small business feel so special.

We’re so grateful that our little bookstore gets to be part of these communities and even more grateful that you continue to walk through our doors, support us, chat with us, share your stories, and let us be a tiny part of yours.

Today begins National Hispanic Heritage Month and at Twists & Tales, we believe every story deserves a place on the shelf. From the stories passed down through generations to the authors who continue to share experiences, Hispanic heritage is full of voices worth reading, remembering, and celebrating.

This month, we invite you to sit down with a parent, grandparent, or loved one and ask them something about your family’s history that you’ve never heard before. Maybe it’s a story about where your family came from, a tradition you didn’t know the meaning behind, or a memory that deserves to be passed down.

Because the stories we carry are part of who we are, and keeping them alive starts with asking, listening, and sharing. 💛

Holy moly, City of San Benito - Government said “clear your schedule” and we listened! 😂💜
If you don’t have plans tonight, congratulations, you do now! Market on Robertson is bringing 100+ vendors to Historic Robertson Street District and downtown is about to be the place to be.
Come shop, stroll, snack, and find something you didn’t know you needed. And while you’re downtown, don’t forget to show some love to the local brick-and-mortar shops too! 🥹

A NEW LOCAL ADVENTURE HAS ARRIVED!
We’re so happy for our neighbor, Juliza Tamez, owner of Casa Blanca Boutique, on the release of her very first children’s book, Trixie and Dixie: The Mystery of the Missing Cape! This bilingual English/Spanish adventure follows two curious pups as they set out to help their friend Muscle Manny find his missing Cape of Courage.
We’re excited to have both the full-color storybook and coloring book versions in store!
