We are putting together a Mr. & Mrs. G’s Legacy Day—a special weekend pop-up celebrating the home cooking, pastries, and memories that served San Antonio for 32 years. 🤎 We do not have a set date yet. Follow for more information.
We’re thinking about bringing back some old favorites:
Ham hocks • Pig feet • Smothered steak • Smothered pork chops • Catfish • Liver & onions • Turkey & dressing • Enchiladas • Salmon croquettes • Meatloaf • that Fried Chicken
Black-eyed peas • Yams • Okra gumbo • Green beans • Mashed potatoes • Creamed corn • Rice • Collard greens • Cabbage • Cornbread • Pone bread • Mac & Cheese • potato salad
Peach cobbler • Banana pudding • German chocolate cake • Pound cakes • Tea cakes • Pecan pie • Sweet potato pie • Apple pie • Peach pie • Cherry pie
And of course: Kool-Aid, sweet tea, and lemonade.
These will all be to-go plates, so don’t worry—we won’t be charging the 25¢ (or was it 28¢? 😂) Mr. G used to charge for his Styrofoam plates and bags!
As we bring Legacy Day together, tell us: what is the one Mr. & Mrs. G’s dish, dessert, or drink you have to see on the menu?
If you worked for Mr. & Mrs. G’s and would like to be part of this amazing celebration of their legacy, please contact me, Vicky Adams. We would love to have you involved!
Tag someone who remembers Mr. & Mrs. G’s and would come out to celebrate the legacy with us! Continue to follow our page for more details.
We are also looking for community partners who would like to help make Mr. & Mrs. G’s Legacy Day special. If you can donate or sponsor a venue/building, food or cooking supplies, drinks, desserts, tables and chairs, tents, entertainment, printing, or other event needs, please contact Vicky Adams.
Every contribution will help us honor a San Antonio legacy and make this a day our community will remember.
