San Antonio, it was a tremendous honor and pleasure to be able to put together such a successful plate sale benefit for the late Kenneth James and his family. We had to pleasure of raising upwards of $4k for bills and expenses for Megan (KJ’s Partner) and the family as they prepare for his memorial next month and go through all the logistics that come with such a tragic loss.

I was struck by the generosity of so many in the industry volunteering their whole days to cook, clean, prepare, emcee, perform, create, and all come together to support someone and their family they might know very well or not know at all.

Super huge shout out to Matt of GiGi’s Deli , Jake Jacob Gonzales , Colin Duke’s Dive , Kenny chifakirin , Theo T30_ Eric for letting us use the Singhs kitchen, Mony Ramon Enrique Acosta for emceeing, elnuh , Ston , The Dreams for performing, Trent Garcia for running sound, Mark Theory Coffee ™️ , Marco and Fran Mila Coffee , Diego Diego Velasco for the delicious cocktails, Mando JoMando Cruz for documenting the evening, Carabuena Tequila | Live Your Best Side™️ and Lone Star B**r

Lastly huge shout out to each and everyone of y’all who made a donation to the family, came out on your Sunday evening when things are busy and expensive in the world to support others in our community. I am reminded to continue to never take for granted the immense privilege I have of serving each and every one of y’all that support Indy and the coffee community here in SA and being apart of your lives daily, thank you!

CALLING ON OUR COMMUNITY! As you guys might have heard from Theory Coffee ™️ ‘s post, we lost a very special person in the coffee community. Kennth has been apart of our routine for over a decade and it truly saddens me that we will no longer get to serve him his espresso and drip combo. It’s hard to say in words what he and his family mean to our SA coffee community so we would like to do what we can to support his family during this tough time.

Sunday September 20th we will be hosting an Indy After Hours feat. Live music by Ston elnuh and The Dreams . Bevs by Diego Velasco of bar1919 and Lone Star B**r . Lastly and most importantly Matt Garcia from GiGi’s Deli will be cooking up some delicious Pasta Mardi Gras plates will ALL PROCEEDS GOING TO THE JAMES FAMILY. The whole evenings programming with be FREE we just ask for $20 cash donations for the food plates benefitting Kenneth’s family! Let’s show out and show love this upcoming after hours! Love yall!

Huge shout out to Theory Coffee ™️ Eric from Singhs Vietnamese and all the volunteers and contributors for helping putting this all together. Yall are amazing!
