Food: Pizza (obviously), appetizers, salads, subs, burgers, gyros, calzone, Stromboli. Pizza toppings: pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef, Canadian bacon, breakfast bacon, chicken, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, black olives, green olives, anchovies, artichokes, spinach, portabella mushrooms, feta cheese, ricotta cheese, jalapenos, banana peppers, pineapple. Lunch special: $5 for my choice of (a) 2 slices with two toppings, 1 soda or (b) 1 slice with two toppings, 1 salad, 1 soda. I arrived at 2:30p, alone but for the very friendly staff. Killer salad: 10-inch plate with a big pile of red-leaf lettuce, spinach, arugula, escarole, tomato, thinly sliced red onion rings, sliced pepperoncini, sliced black olives, and shredded mozzarella with choice of ranch, Italian, bleu cheese, or Caesar dressing served on the side. I chose beef for my two toppings. Pizza slice was just like I had in Manhattan except it was one-sixth of a 20-inch pizza and HUGE! It almost filled a 12-inch tray/plate. Everything is made to order. Nothing is seasoned until it is ordered. They make their own garlic Parmesan pizza dough. They make all their own sauces but since I didn't order wings, I can't speak to those. They say they put oregano on their burgers unless told not to do so but, as stated before, nothing is seasoned until ordered. They haven't obtained their TABC license yet. When I asked, they said any dine-in-house patron of legal age could ask for and receive a maximum of two beers free (all in the Miller family, including Coors Lite). That's dine-in only, folks! They hope to have their license by their Grand Opening on Super Bowl Sunday; currently they are closed Sundays. The wheelchair ramp is at the opposite end of the strip center facing Callaghan. The pizzeria faces Torino. The parking lot must accommodate patrons of the gas pumps as well as the laundromat. However Big G's gracious staff assures me that folks park in neat lines across the lot and no one is inconvenienced. This is a quaint, charming little place where anyone would feel comfortable. The staff alone deserve the five stars! San Antonio, TX

We took our four kids and met some friends here this weekend and had a great time. We ordered a pepperoni and a Greek pizza and they were delicious. The kids loved them so much we ended up ordering another pizza! (And it still tasted great the next day). The pizza is well priced and delicious. Service is great. We plan on going back in the future. angelia h. Universal City, TX

This is the only place in San Antonio that you can get real traditional New York style pizza. All of the ingrediants are fresh and cooked daily and it shows. The produce is fresh from Texas farmers, I was there when it was brought in. They also have subs, salads, burgers, and appetizers. If you are looking for an excellant pizza at a very reasonable price Big G's is your place. The staff is extremely frendly and they along with the atmosphere make you feel like you are at home and a part of the family. Perales76

Shamefully, I admit I've been a chain pizza guy(Papa Johns & Dominos) who wasnt too willing to give the little pizza joints a chance. Thankfully I decided to give Big G's Pizzeria that chance, after I saw someone chowing down their mammoth 20 inch pizza. After calling to place my order, I ended up speaking with the owner, he seemed pretty down-to-earth. I had a feeling I was going to like the place just from our conversation. As if I wasnt impressed already by the size of the pie, he blew me away with the selection of available toppings. The best part was I walked away paying only $14 for a two topping 20 incher. Liked: Food, Service, Atmosphere, Value.
