Step into the expanded Folklores space, where our first featured artist brings vivid color, strange characters, and dark humor to the walls: Evil Dave Gonzales. 💀

Growing up in the Victoria Courts housing projects, Dave found in art a way to escape. He has been tattooing since 1994 and owns Calaveras Tattoos, which he established in 2005. In addition to tattooing, he paints with brushes and airbrushes, using acrylic on just about anything.

As Dave puts it, he draws and paints things that “don’t make sense to many, but make sense to some.” With its colorful, strange, and darkly funny character, his work makes perfect sense to us. 🖤

Join us for Dave’s opening art reception on October 9! You can also catch him DJing Folklores’ 8th birthday party on October 17. We’re thrilled to share his art with you. Follow him at .

Our new Folklores space should FINALLY be ready next week, and we’re so excited to share it with you!

We’re getting ready to celebrate 8 YEARS with our Birthday Night Market, and we also want to use our new space to support local artists.

We’re opening our front windows for artists to display and sell their work — completely FREE. No commission. You set your price and handle payment + pickup. We provide the space and host an opening reception to celebrate YOU and your work.

Because when we grow, we want our community to grow with us.
