Beyer, sits on land first granted title in 1777 by the King of Spain. The Spanish Colonial period hacienda became the core of the new business. The cedar door and window lintels, the fireplace, and thick rock walls, are still evident inside the building. Casa Rio was the first San Antonio business to open its doors to the River and take advantage of the River's setting. Canoes, gondolas, and paddle boats, evolving into tour and dinner boats, began here and helped create the Riverwalk of today.

If you haven’t visited our new mural by the talented Cristina Sosa Noriega this is a sign to get down to the The San Antonio River Walk to visit us! Thank you for the shout out, City of San Antonio - Municipal Government!

June’s highlights “The Flow of Time, The Passage of People” by San Antonio artist Cristina Sosa Noriega, a community art on City Property project led by Los Leones. Commissioned by Casa Rio with support from the Arts & Culture, City of San Antonio, this mural along the River Walk traces the city’s history through four distinct eras, all connected by the enduring presence of the river and the Commerce Street Bridge. ✨

Each scene captures the people, stories, and moments that shaped San Antonio. The mural continues into the modern era with colorful barge cruises and Fiesta celebrations that reflect the city’s rich cultural identity. 🎨
