… When I tried to discuss the situation and speak with the person who had hung up on me, the conversation escalated. I was called “belligerent,” and one of the company’s partners told me they were going to call the police.
Let that sink in. After 10 years of doing business together, I was trying to resolve an issue involving payment, delivery, and communication — and the situation reached the point where the police were brought into the conversation.
I’m sharing this because customer service matters. Communication matters. And the way you treat people matters, especially the small businesses that have supported you over the years.
I understand that businesses can change their policies, and I understand that not every business relationship will last forever. But there’s a professional way to communicate those decisions, and there’s a respectful way to handle disagreements.
I’ve worked hard to build SQUeeZeRS Juice Bar® and serve my community. I know what it takes to run a business, and I believe accountability and mutual respect should go both ways.
I’m not asking for special treatment. I’m asking for professional communication and the same respect I’ve extended throughout a 10-year business relationship.
I have a recording of part of today’s interaction, and I’m keeping the details documented. I hope will take this opportunity to address what happened.
Small businesses deserve respect, too.
