Today, I celebrate my father, ARTHUR H. LOPEZ ~ the man I love, miss, and honor every single day. ❤️🙏❤️
My daddy was the CREATOR and TRADMARK HOLDER of the name "PUFFY TACO" ~ the beloved San Antonio tradition that so many of you enjoy today. 🌮
There are stories that give credit to my Uncle Ray of Ray's Drive Inn, or Henry's, as being the first to make what were then simply called "CRISPY TACOS." But my daddy's story is different.
HE IS THE ONE WHO COINED the now-famous name "PUFFY TACO"
In 1977, he opened his restaurant in La Habra, California. Then, in 1982, he returned to San Antonio (where he was born and raised) and took over ownership of his big brother's restaurant, Ray's Drive Inn.
So today, on his birthday, I ask you to join me in giving my daddy the love, gratitude, and BIG RESPECT he deserves. ❤️🙏🌮
His name, his vision, and his contribution to the food culture of San Antonio will always be a part of our family's story.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Daddy, ARTHUR H. LOPEZ.

I love you. I miss you. And I will carry your legacy with me every day.
