Great time connecting with the community at the 5th Annual Harvest Trot 5K! 🖤🍎

River City Produce and Chicho Boys were proud to join Bexar County Commissioner Rebeca Clay-Flores, Precinct 1, for a morning of health, community, and giving back.

We loved sharing fresh fruit and Chicho Boys bags with families and neighbors. Always good to see our community come together!

I’m excited to share that I’m joining Live From The Southside Magazine as a contributing writer!

This one feels especially meaningful. San Antonio is home. It’s where I was raised, where I built my career, and where so much of the work I care about—food, health, community and making sure Everybody Eats—continues to happen every day.

Telling some of those stories through Live From The Southside feels like a natural extension of that work.

What makes this a little more special is that April Monterrosa has been a longtime colleague and friend, and I’ve watched her build a platform that unapologetically celebrates the people, businesses, culture and stories of our community. I’m honored that she invited me to add my voice to it. And, her mom is a big fan of The Produce Lady!

I’ll be talking about produce (of course 😂), food and health, but also the people, places, traditions and systems that shape how San Antonio eats.

Because after more than 20 years in produce, I’ve learned there’s always a much bigger story behind what ends up on our plates. There are people and neighborhoods behind it. There is culture, history, access, struggle, joy and community behind it.

Those stories deserve to be told by the people who live them. I’m proud to add my voice to the conversation—and even more excited to use this space to amplify the voices of the communities I get to work alongside every day.
