Post-race stoke is still very high, there were some points during this 9 miler where I was bitching myself out, disappointed that the steepness of the hills were getting to me, or reminding myself that I need a gel soon. I can’t lie and say that I’m satisfied with my time or with second place, but I am proud of myself and know that this is just another step on the rocky road to San Antonio.

TLDR: Not happy but not mad, going to keep in putting in the work, next week will be hill training and speed focused, because I’m not new to putting up miles.

As this month comes to an end I wanted to let y’all know one of my recent achievements, in my last race I was first of the age 20-24/male group. I’ve been running competitively since I was 11, and 11 years later I’m still going!

This year, I began running for my family’s organization Fondation Josita Kavege, a nonprofit my father started to build classrooms in honor of his sister. For more info, check out the link in my bio.

First lift in Lomé was a light leg day with minimal resources available, but glad I could make do! Got to work out with a local footballer, always happy to make new friends!

For a quick and easy breakfast, try Turkish eggs or Çilbir, you can definitely eyeball portions and it takes no more than 10 minutes!

-Poach two eggs
- Make a mixture of greek yogurt, dill, minced garlic, and a little bit of salt
- Top with chili oil and serve with bread
