Why Today's Bread Looks Different.
A little sourdough lesson from the baker… 🍞
When a market gets canceled, I can’t just throw away perfectly good sourdough bread. So instead, I adjust, bake it, and make the best of the situation.
Because sourdough is a living fermentation, the extra time changes the bread. It may not rise quite as tall or have the same lofty crumb you’re used to seeing from my loaves, but there’s a silver lining…
THE FLAVOR. 🤤
That extra fermentation time creates a deeper, more intense sourdough flavor — tangy, complex, and unmistakably sourdough.
So if your loaf looks a little less “tall and proud” this time, don't mistake that for a bad loaf. It’s still delicious sourdough, just with a little more attitude. 😂
And honestly… I’d rather bake it, reduce the cost, sell it, and let y'all enjoy it, rather than throw good bread in the trash.

✨ A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER ✨
Some weekends leave you tired… and some leave you incredibly grateful. This weekend was definitely both. ❤️
From catering beautiful gatherings to preparing custom orders, the kitchen at Coastal Whisk & Catering NSB was filled with purpose, creativity, and more than a little bit of flour.
Every order represents someone trusting us to be a small part of their special occasion, their family table, or simply a moment worth enjoying. That trust is something we never take for granted.
To everyone who ordered, booked catering, shared my business, recommended us, or simply continues to cheer Coastal Whisk on — thank you. Your support allows me to continue doing what I love after more than 30 years in this industry.
It was a full weekend, a successful weekend, and most importantly, a meaningful one.
We were even able to prepare a birthday cupcake tray for my friend John.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported me at the Edgewater Community Market this past Wednesday! It was a great night.
I will not be setting up at the corner of SR-44 and Samsula Drive this weekend. Unfortunately I woke up sick. I think I need to take a few days off from baking to recover. I'll see y'all next week.
