Today is Becky's 50th Birthday!

8½ years. Hundreds of Sundays. A truly unreasonable amount of tea knowledge. 🍵❤️

Today we say goodbye to Marissa — one of the people who has made Tea Zaanti, well… Tea Zaanti.

She’s been here since the old shop. She helped us move to the new shop. She survived COVID, two years of Sugar House construction, and the matcha explosion.

And yes, Marissa was drinking matcha before TikTok made it cool.

But if you’ve been around Tea Zaanti for a while, you probably know Marissa best for one thing:

Sundays.

For 8½ years, Marissa and Sundays have been practically synonymous around here. It’s hard to imagine the shop without her behind the counter, talking tea, making drinks, and quietly knowing approximately 4,000 things about every tea we sell.

Marissa, thank you for all the Sundays, all the tea, all the stories, and all the years. We’re going to miss you!

Come see her today from 9am–3pm and give her the sendoff she deserves.

Marissa and Sundays!

But one thing has remained the same at Tea Zaanti for the past eight and a half years: Marissa and Sundays!

This Sunday will be Marissa’s last day at Tea Zaanti. She’ll be here from 9am–3pm, so please stop by to wish her well and thank her for the incredible tea knowledge she has brought to the shop over the eight and half years.

Just for some perspective, Marissa has been with us through a LOT:
She started with us at the old shop.
She helped us transition to our current location.
She was with us through COVID.
Marissa and I watched the insurrection unfold on a computer at the shop.
She stayed through two years of Sugar House construction.
And she has witnessed firsthand the explosion of matcha.

And for the record, Marissa was drinking matcha long before TikTok made it cool!

It’s hard to imagine Tea Zaanti without Marissa and her Sunday shifts. Please come by this Sunday and give her a proper Tea Zaanti sendoff. ❤️

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 2 weeks ago. Tea Zaanti is such a refreshing change from the typical coffee shop. They have an incredible selection of teas, excellent espresso drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to help you find something you'll enjoy. I especially loved the cozy indoor seating and beautiful patio. It's easy to see why this place has such a great reputation. If you're anywhere near Sugar House, Tea Zaanti is absolutely worth a visit.

I make it a point to read every review we receive via Google, Yelp, and anywhere else people take the time to share their experience. Every review is an opportunity to learn, improve, and see Tea Zaanti through someone else's eyes.

Every once in a while, a review comes along that reminds me why we do this. Not because of the five stars, but because it tells me that someone experienced Tea Zaanti exactly the way we hoped they would.

A place to slow down.

A place to connect.

A place that feels a little different.
