The Original Pancake House of Utah has committed to in the fight against one time use plastics by no longer offering straws. The statistics on non-recyclable plastics are staggering; 500 Million Straws are used by Americans daily. THAT'S ENOUGH TO CIRCLE AROUND THE EARTH 2.5 TIMES OVER. Plastic straws are not recyclable and end up in our oceans killing an estimated 100,000 marine animals each year! It takes 200 YEARS for ONE straw to decompose. Strawless Salt Lake City has over 90 restaurants committed to this initiative: Costa Vida, The State Room, Taqueria 27, Tsunami--just to name a few.
Nationwide, hundreds of companies have joined the world wide campaign: Starbucks, McDonalds, Hyatt Hotels, Royal Caribbean, Alaska Airlines, Aquariums, and many more!
