So many tabs open in my brain every day, all day, moving in and out of importance at any given time.

Some days, the chatter is loud trying to dig and get everything done.

Some days, I’m an ostrich sticking her head in the sand not wanting to engage w any of that at all.

Really what I WANT to do is just drink tea and visit w people.

Today, team ostrich wins so I am just going to mute the chatter and try to take an afternoon break.

Baklava is a cornerstone in our foundation, but how did we come up with all those flavors??!!

For those who don’t know me, I have been baking baklava in the valley for over 20 years. Starting out with a little card table at the downtown farmers market, then moving into cooking the treats for the Tea Grotto for a blink.

I have always been a bit non traditional in my flavor combos, so baklava is no different.

We have our own candy inspired line of flavors where we take candy flavors, break them down to the elements and transform them into a nut combination.

We have our boozy Bakkava where we use b**r as our liquid base for our syrup and build from there.

And the list can go on and on.

Much of the time, I am challenged to create a flavor.

Still always up for a challenge so if you have an idea for an interesting baklava, let me know!

Happy National Coffee Day!

Coffee connects people from all walks of like every day. I opened this coffee shop so that we could all remember how to gather together again after being isolated for so long due to COVID.

It’s the touchstone and foundation for our little family and so happy to celebrate the day with all of you!
