Hello my pizza heads! Wanted to give a quick(long post incoming) State on the Union on …
1. I want to say thank you to everyone who gave us an opportunity, and purchased our pizza using their hard earned money. We wouldn’t be where we are without you, and we appreciate you. I actually just competed at pizza expo, and our product came in 27th place in the world in the pan division. You all are apart of that because of your support of our tiny little business ❤️
2. I want to thank my hardworking employees(pizza friends) who came and learned our processes and worked their tails off on a hot food trailer in the summer. I’m forever indebted for the help of Zak and Griffin ❤️
3. Most of you are wondering what’s going on, and why we haven’t posted in a while. After enjoyed success in Saline, a person on city council was trying to discredit/restrict our model. I met with said person, and basically, they just gave me the run around of why they love food trucks, when in reality they were just being political(fake) to my face. They attacked us in our local press without speaking with me at all and hearing where we are coming from. As a person who grew up in this community, this was the beginning of me feeling like I was an outsider in my own town. It didn’t sit well with me.
4. Saline Chamber of Commerce happened to invite us in, and told us we were being nominated for best of the best. I happily joined and was willing to pay any membership fees associated! We signed up, and didn’t hear anything for about two weeks. Best of the best was posted and we were not on the list.. why was that? Apparently one member had an issue with us. That one member, apparently had the power to ban us from the competition on their own. Again, alienating a home town product, and person that grew up here.
5. Another opportunity ended up being presented to me. With all of this going on, I honestly felt it was best to move on. The negativity coming from these people was not worth the commitment to stay and try to make it work in Saline anymore unfortunately.
6. We are going on a year long hiatus while I work on this new project. Thank you all for your loving support ❤️
