Santa Lucia Rotary Proudly celebrating our 10th year as a vibrant and productive Rotary in Salinas. The club meets weekly on Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. No host bar.

Santa Lucia Rotary Club continues to bring together community minded individuals to exchange ideas, build relationships, and take action and we have fun while doing it! The Santa Lucia Rotary Club of Salinas is an established Rotary Club in Monterey County, California, chartered in 2014. at Elli's Great American Restaurant in Salinas, CA. Cost to attend weekly meeting is $25.00 per person which in

This week at Santa Lucia Rotary, we welcomed Francisco Rojas and Jesse Shaw from Interim, Inc., a nonprofit celebrating 50 years of providing services and supporting mental health in Monterey County.

Interim, Inc. provides essential services focused on recovery, dignity, and community integration. They are the only agency in Monterey County offering a full range of support for adults living with serious mental illness, including mental health treatment, affordable housing, residential treatment, social support, homeless outreach, and supported education and employment services.

Their mission is to provide services and affordable housing that support members of our community with mental illness in building productive and satisfying lives.

Interim, Inc. is also hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, October 24, 2026, to support the Marina Kai Apartments project.

This week at Rotary Club of Salinas Santa Lucia, we welcomed students from the Alisal HS Interact Club (thanks, Jasmin!) and Lori Tuttle, founder of Hope, Horses & Kids, both bringing big news about upcoming fundraisers you won't want to miss!

Our main speaker was Lori Tuttle, founder of Hope, Horses & Kids (HHK) . a remarkable nonprofit right here in Salinas that therapeutically use horses to support our community's youth and families. Lori shared the heart behind their equine-assisted learning programs and invited us all to their upcoming signature event.

This week at Rotary, we celebrated Saint Patrickā€™s Day with an art night full of laughter, creativity, and a little unexpected competition.

Our members took on the challenge of painting leprechaun portraits, and letā€™s just say the results ranged from impressive to wildly imaginative. It turned into a fun evening of fellowship, plenty of laughs, and a chance to discover that there may be more artistic talent in the club than we realized.

Congratulations to our guest, Sheila McKell, who took top honors for the night and earned full leprechaun portrait bragging rights.

We also held a fundraising raffle for lottery tickets, and the lucky winner was our great president, Anna Abad.

A fun night, a little friendly competition, and a great way to celebrate together.

This past week at Santa Lucia Rotary meeting, we had the opportunity to recognize an outstanding group of students through our North Salinas High School Student of the Month program.
We celebrated from left to right: Zeauna Rodarte (April), Flor Ocampo Morales (March), and our May students, Jacob Maldonado and Aaron Jimenez-Torres. Each student was introduced by faculty members who shared why they were selected and what sets them apart.
A consistent theme came through in every story, these students are showing up with effort, character, and a willingness to grow.
Moments like this are a reminder of the impact of great educators, strong support systems, and giving students the opportunity to be seen and recognized.

This week at Santa Lucia Rotary, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Jesus Gonzales, a Physician Resident at Natividad Medical Center.

Dr. Gonzales shared his inspiring journey, from his early days in high school, through the challenges of medical school, and ultimately to his current role serving our community at Natividad. His story highlighted the dedication, perseverance, and mentorship that helped guide him along the path to becoming a physician.

Dr. Gonzales is passionate about helping build a pipeline for local students, creating opportunities for young people to move from high school into healthcare careers and eventually back into our community as medical professionals at Natividad Medical Center. Strengthening this pathway has the potential to make a lasting impact on healthcare in Monterey County.
