As most our customer might notice that we started automatically added 15% gratuity for a group of 6 people and more years ago(100% goes to your server) and most restaurants in the country do the same.

It’s a guarantee for our servers and shows our appreciation to their hard work. Most customers are understanding about it even kind enough to give an extra tip which we are very grateful about. We put the notices at the wall, taped to the table where our customers waited to be seated and the bottom of the bill you received.

However, we had an unpleasant situation this evening a family just wouldn’t paid the gratuity for their server and being very aggressive.

They were here with another family which I assume they are friends. I will refer them as familyA and familyB in this story. Family A came in first, reserved a table for 5-15 people. Their server then seated them on a table for 8 people and tell them we can get one more table put together for them if there’s more people show up. Later familyB showed up, told our server they have 5 people, in the video we can hear that she told our server there’s a party waiting for them. Our server pointed out familyA and ask if they were together, they walked straight toward them.

Everything went great. Their server gave them the bill. No problem until familyA paid their bill and left. This man from familyB starting to give our employees a very hard time by lying about they were forced to be sat together. They wasn’t expected to meet other friends. Accusing us for stealing his money(12 dollars). When we wouldn’t waive the gratuity he started yelling at us and harassing other customers even they admitted the service was great and the waitress didn’t do anything wrong. After police officers arrived and he still lying in front of security footage we pulled out which is pretty solid proof that they are the ones keep lying, threatening to ruin our business by telling people not to come because he “knows a lot of people”.

We understand that some people doesn’t have the budget for a mandatory gratuity and some people was kind enough to mention it beforehand, we are more than willing to seat them in a different section for them to avoid the fee. Sometime people don’t satisfy about the service, once we confirm it we also willing to waived the fee. But we will not tolerate the behavior like this.
