Countdown to the 2nd annual Crawfish Boil tomorrow night at Tres Litros!

Mudbug and I will be doing up three large batches of crawfish at 4,5 and 6pm. Plate includes three pounds of delicious and expertly seasoned crawfish straight from Louisiana, corn, andouille sausage and potato.

So come on down, enjoy some good eats, get a little buzz on and listen to the tunes from very talented Tony Trahan & Blue Krewe!

It’s our last week here at Tres Litros, we’ve had these recipes on the list for a while now and figured it’d be fun! These specials will only be available through Friday as we have a special Indian menu for Saturday.

This week’s specials are Jollof Rice with Piri Piri Chicken or Beef Stew!

Jollof Rice hails from West Africa with many regional variations. We rolled with the Nigerian style prepared with long grain rice seasoned with tomato, onion, bell pepper, habanero garlic, ginger, butter, thyme, curry powder and bay leaf. Served with roasted potato, beets, carrots and your choice of Beef Stew or Piri Piri chicken.

Piri Piri Chicken is a dish that began in Mozambique and Angola influenced by Portuguese settlers bringing along chili peppers (known as Piri Piri in Swahili). It’s a spicy sauce/marinade made with roasted red bell peppers, onion, garlic and a variety of red chilies with lemon juice, red wine vinegar and a a touch of rosemary. We marinate the chicken with that and grill it up.

Beef Stew with tomato and cardamom with bell pepper, habanero, dried chilies and onion.

Malva Pudding is a South African dessert made of orange and apricot caramelized sponge cake soaked with a sweet and creamy butter sauce.

This Saturday (May 3rd) is our last day with our stellar friends at Tres Litros, so we thought we’d end it on a bang! Special menu served until it’s gone. It just happens to be Tres Litros’ 5th year anniversary with special beer release and music from the much celebrated, Magoo! We expect it to be raucous, jovial and a touch emotional (that one is for me). We hope to see you all there. We love you, Salida!

Chicha’s Kitchen is open this evening serving up Cubanos!

Pork tenderloin in Habanero, mustard, garlic, orange sauce. Sweet ham, creamy swiss, and dill pickles.

Also cooked with Caballo Diablo chile lager!

They are seriously delicious!

This week’s specials are Massaman & Crying Tiger

Massaman is a rich Thai coconut curry with influences from Indian and Persian cuisine. Our’s is prepared with potato, carrots, bamboo shoots, green beans, green chilies and caramelized onion in coconut milk and our homemade Massaman curry paste with cinnamon, cumin, cardamom, clove, star anise and nutmeg giving the dish its distinctive flavor. Topped with pickled red onion and cilantro.

Gluten Free. Vegan (upon request)

Add spicy peanut chicken

Our take on the trendy dish, Crying Tiger is made with grilled steak, lettuce, cucumber, mint, cilantro and spicy Nam Jim Jaew sauce originating in norther Thailand. Smaller plate/appetizer.
