The meals were needed. Izzy & Lindsay enjoyed seeing our friends. It's always a blessing to see them smile. There is no doubt when they see Izzy making her way down the hill she has good stuff in that wagon💜

We ran out of tortillas doing burritos the other day. So today with the help we have received there was enough to go grab more tortillas & some foil to wrap a bunch more burritos & I was also able to grab a few ingredients to make the hugest pot of what was supposed to be chili, and it is, but Matt & I decided it's actually chili soup! Sometimes you have to make it work with what you've got & I did just that!! It's pretty darn good & we are excited to serve it with warm cornbread on our next night out for Dinner With The Miller's🤩

Ya'll, I've never cooked that many beans in my life in the hugest pot I've ever seen! Seriously, thank you. We just keep getting blessed, therefore we get to be a blessing & we are so grateful.

I'll be hitting the streets next week with the tribe & I'll be back to share more beautiful moments. Thank you all for loving on our community with us.

If you walked outside your house today in Salem you definitely noticed it rained more than it didn’t. But Izzy & Lindsay volunteered to make good use of quite a bit of food we had left at the cafe. Izzy told me they said, "God, please let the rain stop". Walked outside to load up & low & behold, God said yes🩷 Look at that sun forcing its way through the clouds...... Not that the rain would have stopped them anyways😇 But a break in between showers sure was appreciated 🤩 It may not be easy to tell, but that is a pretty decent downhill clip & coming out of that camp is a pretty steep climb. Trying to wrangle a wagon in & out would have been slippery business. Grateful for the sun on their faces for their journey.

A little bit of love goes a long way. We are doing more out there than just handing out food, we are hoping that everyone feels loved. Feels like people really do care. I just want to share a couple things incase you wonder if we are even making a difference. The answer is yes we are. Tonight a man said he had not eaten in days. Because of the amazing response to help us, that man had a good meal today. That matters. We can't do this as often as we like without your support. I'll keep saying thank you because it means so much to us to be able to do this. Next, we tell so many people we meet out there that so many people are helping make these meals happen by way of donation; because they too care. It really means a lot to them. They say they feel judged, ashamed & like they don't matter. We get to tell them it's just not true. There is a whole tribe out there that cares very much for each & every one of them.Together we are giving hope. One. Meal. At. A. Time🙏 Thank you.

We put more of your generous donations to work today!! Burritos are such a hit-we decided to run them again! We love how many generous meals we can share with them!! Tonight you all helped us put a huge burrito into the hands of 70 people today. It's a beautiful thing-thank you for joining hands with us to serve our community 🙏

First..... Meet our sweet girl Lindsay. Now shout HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSAY!!!! Today is her birthday & she told her family they would have to celebrate her 26th birthday a day early. Why?? Because Lindsay had plans. She asked if Dinner With The Miller's - a.k.a. Sharing meals with the homeless could happen on her birthday. That is what she decided would make her happy on her special day. We are so blessed by our staff. Seriously, what a gem. We love you, Lindsay. Happy birthday, Queen 👑

Well my staff keeps showing up and amazing me with their gifts to serve. Last night Elinnizzy Rodriguez and Lindsay Mae Moisan put together 24 meals from our leftovers from Keizer Rotary Fondatio lunch and went and delivered them to people around our building living in their camps. I am so blessed to employ staff with such large hearts to serve and give back to the community.

We did it again🩷 Heartfelt thank you to every single one of you for your donations to support Dinner With The Miller's...... We beat last weeks meals shared. We handed out 110 meals today, countless bottles of cold water & ziplocs of dog food for many hungry pups. We really appreciate your enthusiasm to help us-one meal at a time🙏

I'm going to be really honest. It was rough out there tonight. As I'm sharing this post with a heart full of gratitude; I'm still processing the struggle out there. So many young people. So many mentally ill people. So many people in serious need of shoes, a shower, clean clothes. So many people out there that just need help in so many ways. Yes, addiction is a huge problem out there, but we don't pick & choose who deserves to eat. We all deserve nourishment.

I had a really great conversation with a woman. She expressed how much it meant to so many that we pull up with so much love & the desire to just treat them like people-with kindness. I told her it is our only intention. To just share what we have & make people feel like they are loved. She was truly delighted when I told her who we were & that we had shared on our social media what we were up to & the beautiful response we had got. So many people pulled up to contribute. I told her it's more than us that care. So many people donated to make tonight happen. I will tell you, it took everything I had to fight back the tears when she looked me in the eye & said thank you for caring about us😭

I just wanted to share some moments & conversation we had tonight. We did this together-thank you🙏🙏🙏

Welp. It was not long after we arrived-God said: give them your shoes. It wasn't until right before we left Izzy came across a woman with no shoes. Her feet were bleeding. I said nothing. I took my shoes off & handed them to Izzy. She needed those shoes so much more than I did. I feel grateful I could share them with her.

This is not the only area God showed up today. A man was driving by on his way home & passing by he saw we were clearly up to something he definitely wanted to be a part of. He jumped out of his car. Introduced himself to Matt. He said I would really love to volunteer with you. Matt said...... what are ya doin right now? That was all the invitation Ulysses needed. He snapped on a pair of gloves & handed out every single donut we had💙 we look forward to serving with you again soon, friend.

Today was filled with the presence of God. As we served today; I promise He walked with us. Izzy with such a tender heart for the homeless community did not shy away from helping an elderly man in a wheelchair put his shoes on. A true servant & we love how she has inspired us.

They let their guard down. They invited us into their space. We made them feel safe. We showed them we do care.

I hope with all my heart when they see our big white suburban pull up they know good things are going to happen.
