So, what style of BBQ do we do?
We get asked this quite a bit. We see a lot of folks advertising Texas BBQ, Carolina BBQ, and other regional styles. But honestly… we do our own thing.
Over the past 26 years, I’ve traveled around the country and experienced many different styles of BBQ — even BBQ in Hawaii. I’ve learned from those experiences, but along the way, I’ve developed our own style: Dougie’s Style.
Basically, we cook it the way we like it and the way we would expect to be served if we were paying for it. Good meat, good smoke, good flavor, and something we can be proud to put in front of our customers.
The last 26 years have definitely been a learning experience. And believe me, back before YouTube, instant-read micro-temperature probes, and social media, we messed up a few cooks! 😂 But that’s how you learn — you keep cooking, keep experimenting, and keep getting better.
We’re proud of what we’ve created over the years, and we’re always learning and looking for ways to improve.
