The Takeout has some very nice words to say about SSBBQs smoked chicken. We've always said our wood smoked pit-fired birds were an underrated secret gem on the menu.

Got us listed right between two legendary BBQ hall-of-famers too 😁

The barbecue chicken at these joints has won awards, local recognition, and customer praise, including spots like Barb's B Q, Cozy Corner, and Peg Leg Porker.

I can't believe this is our 20th July 5th with Southern Soul BBQ. The fireworks on the fourth have been my wake up alarm for twenty years. I've spent many a fourth night, after the fireworks, sitting in the dark on the tables our front watching the traffic jam in the round about. After the cars are all gone there is an amazing calm in the dark. It's really quiet like the island has to breathe for a minute from the madness. The calm after a hurricane.
