Yes on this day in history well, more importantly, YESTERDAY in history WWI ENDED in 1918. That war to end all wars until the next war. I don't even know what happened on this day in history yet but safe to say that on this day in 1918 many folks woke up with sweet hangovers. Here's a little family picnic portrait at TOPSIDE.

On this Day in History as it pertains to WWI: The Ottoman Empire basically ceased to exist when it negotiated a surrender with England. England did this behind France's back in an effort to get a leg up on taking over what is today called The Middle East. France did not go quietly into that good night. They were bitter as a load of horseradish. Among the facts I love is that the name of the battleship on which the treaty was signed was "The Agamemnon". Why does this make me happy? In college my world civilization teacher was a refugee from Austria who at the age of 60 ( am guessing he would be about 90 or so now) decided to get braces. He LOVED teaching and he loved the play "Agamemnon" and when he would say the name with his newly installed braces I thought my heart would burst. I had a serious crush on him. He was like my Indiana Jones only minus about three feet of height, balding, and about as big around as one of my thighs. Still...

On October 30, 1918, aboard the British battleship Agamemnon, anchored in the port of Mudros on the Aegean island of Lemnos, representatives of Great Britain and the Ottoman Empire sign an armistice treaty marking the end of Ottoman participation…
