Damiana has been used traditionally for headaches, nervous tension, digestive upset, constipation, and as a gentle stimulant for both mental and physical stamina...
But Damiana is probably best known for its connection to sexuality and its reputation as an aphrodisiac.
It’s a little bitter, which is why my favorite ways to take it are in a tincture or smoked, but you can also make it into a tea. It taste better when mixed with another aromatic herb like Spearmint or Rose.
Spiritually, Damiana is used around sensuality, desire, confidence, pleasure, dreamwork, and reconnecting with your body.
It has a warm, earthy quality that makes it a beautiful plant to work with when you’re wanting to loosen up, open up, and get out of your head.
I grow a variety of my own medicines, and damiana is one of them.
I love being able to work with it fresh!
You’ll also find Damiana in my Bedroom Nectar aphrodisiac tincture, where it’s blended with several other botanicals chosen for their sensual and stimulating qualities.
And a little FYI for the fellas.
I have a few male clients who swear by Damiana for sexual performance, including some who say it gives them results they used to turn to Vi**ra for. That’s anecdotal, though.
I guess I have to be careful about claims, or FB will shadow ban me!
