I’ve gone back and forth about making this post because I never want to come across as complaining or asking for sympathy. But I also believe there’s value in being honest.

Business has been slow. Really slow.

And Baked with Grace isn’t the only small business feeling it.

When you shop small, grab lunch from a locally owned restaurant, stop for coffee at the little place down the road, order dessert from a local baker, or wander into a shop you haven’t visited in a while, those purchases matter more than you probably realize.

Small businesses don’t have endless marketing budgets or hundreds of locations to balance out a bad week. Behind most of them is a family, a very small team, or, in my case, one person handling most of the day-to-day with an amazing support system behind them, doing everything they can to keep the lights on and continue serving their community.

So this is my little call to action of sorts: if there are small businesses in our town that you want to see stay in our town, please support them. 🤍

And support doesn’t always have to mean spending a lot of money. Grab a drink. Pick up a treat. Share their post. Tag a friend. Leave a review. Tell somebody about a place you love. Those little things add up.

As for Baked with Grace, I’m still here baking, experimenting with entirely too many drink flavors 😂, dreaming up new things, and doing everything I can to make this little bakery something our community can enjoy.

So if it’s been a while since you’ve stopped by, here's your invitation to come by and see me! Grab your favorite treat, try something new, get yourself a drink for the road, and help keep small businesses like mine a part of our town. 🧁
