It is with profound sadness that we share the devastating news that David Burley, our beloved co-owner and friend, passed away in a motorcycle accident this afternoon in Wisconsin.



David was the heart and soul of Blue Plate — a visionary leader and a joyful, generous spirit who made everyone feel welcome. Since opening our first restaurant in 1993, David’s energy, creativity, and kindness have shaped everything we are today.



This loss is overwhelming for all of us. To honor David and give our teams time to grieve, all Blue Plate Restaurants will be closed on Monday, April 7.



We thank you for your understanding, and we invite you to hold your loved ones close as we remember and celebrate the incredible life of our friend.
