Dear friends, neighbors, and BBQ family,

With heavy hearts and immense gratitude, we say goodbye as Smok'n Outdoors BBQ closes its doors. This journey has been more than just serving great food, it has been about the people, the laughter, and the shared love for smoky, slow-cooked goodness. From the very first rack of ribs to the last brisket off the smoker, you welcomed us, supported us, and made every moment unforgettable. Your smiles, stories, and kind words turned this place into more than just a BBQ spot. It became a home filled with warmth and community. We are beyond grateful for every visit, every meal shared, and every friendship formed. While the smoke will settle and the grills will cool, the memories we've made with you will always burn bright in our hearts. Thank you for believing in us, for showing up, and for making this experience something truly special. This isn’t just the end of Smok'n Outdoors BBQ, it’s the end of a chapter filled with love and gratitude. Farewell, dear friends. To Our Dearest Customers, Friends and Family,

Happy April fool's day.

Our hearts are so full seeing your excitement about our "reopening," but it brings us such bittersweetness to tell you that, sadly, our doors will remain closed. We've wrestled with this decision, and with heavy hearts, we've come to the understanding that we need to step away for now.

Looking back, the time we spent serving you was a true gift. Each and every one of you, our wonderful customers, filled our days with joy and purpose. The aroma of 100% wood-smoked meats, the laughter, the shared moments, these are treasures we'll hold close forever.

But, as our little family grows, our hearts are being pulled in a new direction. We need to dedicate our love and energy to these precious, fleeting years.

Please know that this wasn't a choice made lightly. We adore you all, and the thought of not sharing those smoky flavors with you breaks our hearts. We are so incredibly grateful for the love and support you've showered upon us.

From the deepest, most tender corners of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for everything.

Dear Patrons,

Thank you all for being patient with our re-opening process, after our kitchen fire in early May. We are working with a timeline of re-opening in mid August 2024. As a small family business, we have made the decision to return back to work. And when we do re-open in August, it is very possible that we will only be open Saturdays and Sundays with longer hours. We are trying our best to keep our doors open, but also doing what we need to to keep our family happy and healthy. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire and we were able to celebrate Ruth's 4th birthday.

In the meantime, Mary will be making handmade t-shirts and other merchandise for anyone interested in supporting us. Please keep an eye out for more updates. Thank you for all the encouraging words!

Dear Patrons,

We are in the process of applying for the Neighborhood STAR Grant. If you are not familiar, it is a grant funded by the Saint Paul half cent sales tax. Implemented in 1993, its purpose is to award funding for capital improvement projects in Saint Paul neighborhoods. The building we are in was once originally a landmark of the Eastside, if you are familiar with Romolos. Growing up on the Eastside, Romolos was an iconic, Italian, family restaurant known to everyone near and far. Their presence on the Eastside brought our community together over good food, and have always inspired us to do what we do. They had an amazing sign that used to light up Arcade street. We would like to hear the opinions of our community members on what ideas you might have for our sign and if you have any local recommendations for installing and designing the sign. In addition, if you may have ideas for other capitol improvements such as outdoor seating or redesign on the inside, we would love to hear it too.

Contributing your thoughts and ideas to this post will help in our application for this grant. Thank you for your time and support.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. No one was hurt. We are in the process of working with the fire department to get up and running again. Thank you for your patience and for supporting our family. We are doing what is necessary to re-open again and will update you when we have a better idea of the timeline.

Hello everyone, unfortunately we had a fire in the kitchen last night and are not able to operate until further notice. We apologize for any inconveniences.

Heads up! We will have smoked prime rib available this Saturday, May 11th starting at 11am until 4pm or sold out.
