Hey y’all. It’s gonna take us a minute to get in this morning. We do have a couple reservations today so we are going to open from 11-4 today. If you want to come by and play, we will have sled parking out front. :)

Many of you know that Language Sprout is our sister program here at Rebe’s. They teach Spanish to kids all over the metro and they’re also our partner in everything—including helping share the rent so that free play at Rebe’s can stay open and accessible for everyone.

As a kids Spanish language program, this winter hit them hard during all the chaos surrounding ICE activity in our community. Their teachers and staff spent months helping families through a community hotline and mutual aid work, and their normal programming took a big hit.

If you’ve ever loved this space, this is a really good moment to show them some community love.

Language Sprout Summer Camps are now open for registration, and camps will be happening right here in our classroom space.

☀️ Morning camps: Spanish immersion and vocabulary learning
🎨 Afternoon camps: Art, games, and themed activities connected to the weekly theme

✨ Kids can attend either session or both for a full day.
For safety reasons, their website is not currently fully up and running and they are not listing locations or teacher schedules publicly right now. Because of that, they’re relying a lot on good old-fashioned word of mouth to fill camps this summer.

Hi friends — it’s Rebe ❤️ with a special Valentine’s Day request.

Most of you know me and the work we’ve been doing through Rebe’s these past months. At the heart of it, Rebe’s runs on two things: safety and respect. We try to show up when families are scared, when cupboards are empty, or when someone just doesn’t know where to turn. No red tape, no judgment — just neighbors helping neighbors.

This mom is doing everything she can to be successful but sometimes a situation is bigger than what we can carry alone, and that’s when I lean on this community. You all have shown me again and again that when there’s a real need, you show up with incredible love.

Today is one of those times. I’m hoping you’ll read this family’s story and stand with me in welcoming them and helping them feel safe here.

Hey friends 💛
This morning, Rebe’s Play Café was broken into.

First and most importantly: we are okay.
Everyone is safe. It’s just glass.

To the person who tried to scare us — what you meant as harm became something else entirely.

Today, we found the helpers. They showed up fast. They used tape to pick up glass every inch the carpets so no little feet would get hurt. They checked in, hugged us, and reminded us why this place exists.

We believe this was an attempt to intimidate us because we’ve been quietly collecting mutual aid for families — hundreds of them — who have been calling our help hotline for food, rent support, and care. Today reminded us not to be so quiet.

The only response to fear and violence is unwavering love.
And love showed up everywhere today.

If this moment leads to one more family being fed, one more family staying safely housed, or one more person being treated with dignity, safety, and respect — then this truly was a blessing.

We are so very grateful for all of you! We are open until 6 pm on Wednesday so y’all can get the kids out of the house for Turkey Day prep. Closed Thanksgiving Day and open 8 am to 6 pm on Friday morning. From our family to yours, we hope y’all have a wonderful “Bird Day”. -Rebe and the team
