Hey, friends. I wasn't planning on lime bars. Then I got a deal on a bag of limes. I have two orders, 12 pieces each SOLD. I'm not letting go of summer just yet.

Hey gang. This is what a double batch of Cinnamon Cream scones looks like. One of them is claimed. The other is not. Weird time, I know, but if I can bake late, I may as well offer them late. Let me know if you need them. SOLD

Hey, friends. Jeez, where did the day go? Sorry for the late post. Think of it as planning breakfast for tomorrow. Anyhow, here's what's up.

Foreground: Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate SOLD

Background: Strawberry White Chocolate SOLD

(Both are brown sugar buttermilk scones.)

Cookie of the day: Brown Butter Snickerdoodles. Not exactly sure how many. It's not a big batch, and I'm still scooping. Figure a couple dozen. SOLD

That's the news. Let me know if I can help.

Hey, friends. Most of you who already know me know that I'm a little obsessed with making fresh pasta. But you might not know that part of the reason for this is that I am fascinated by manual crank pasta rollers, especially the antique versions. This shiny little fella is an Imperia 104, 104 being the width in millimeters of the pasta sheet it will accommodate. I can't honestly imagine why it was made. The "standard" home machines are nearly all 150 mm wide. Other than being darn cute for a small appliance, I'm not sure what niche this was meant to inhabit. Whatever its role might have been is lost to time. This machine hasn't been made for decades. Check those graphics. Late '50s? Early '60s? The great part is that I'm reasonably certain it was never used. It's spotless, and in perfect working order. Can you imagine buying, oh, anything today and having it work flawlessly in 70 years?

Anyhow, I used it to make the pasta hanging on the rack there. I have two bags dried. SOLD If you're curious about why homemade pasta is a big deal, they're a $5 add-on with any order. If you're in my neighborhood (Como or thereabouts) I'll drop one off for the cost of delivery (also $5).

If you're combining, I have...

A dozen and a half sea salt peanut butter cookies SOLD

One order (12 pieces) of double chocolate brownies. SOLD

*Both of these recipes are gluten-free, but my world and my kitchen are not. If I'm the only thing between you and the ER, please don't.

That's the news. Holler if I can help.

Good morning, friends. Not a lot to report. I'm working on angel hair this morning, because that's what my little OCD brain feels like doing. If I like the results, I may dry it and post it at some point. Otherwise, looking forward to a day of recovery. Work has been rough.

EDIT: Did you know that The Fool offers pasta-making classes? There's a note pinned to my page about it, but if you can't find it, you can always ask. It's a fun way to feed your friends and gain a pretty cool life skill.

Hey, gang. Two (two!!) Key Lime Shortbread available for delivery after about 4:30 today. Holler. OKAY, ONE.

07/16/2026

Hey, friends. Sometimes it's just as easy to make two of a thing if you're already making one, so it often happens that, in the course of filling orders, I end up with a few extra things. Today those things are:

1 Cinnamon Cream scone SOLD

2 Key Lime shortbreads

Holler if you need them.

Hey gang.

Weird post to write, mostly because it's only tangentially related to the bakery, but it's what's on my mind.

Everything is a struggle lately. You can't listen to the news, you can't talk about religion or politics, you can't leave the house without finding some reason to despair.

What makes me sad beyond measure is the willingness of people to be horrible to each other, like it's some warped point of pride to judge those who might not look or dress or speak like you do. How do we fix that? Can it even be done?

I believe that "my people," if I have people (and here I'm thinking of all of you), do not behave that way. So today I'm doing what little I can to try and facilitate a little kindness. Here's the deal. I have:

One Sriracha Cheddar scone (pictured) SOLD

One Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate scone

One Macadamia scone (NOT the white chocolate version) SOLD

One Oreo cream scone SOLD

One Apricot White Chocolate scone SOLD

If you'd like them, by all means claim them. It will work like it always has.

But if you gift them, the item is half price. I can't really do anything with delivery, because those fees are modest, and delivery=time, which is precious.

If you send them to an immigrant neighbor, I'll do that for the cost of delivery. Of course, you're always welcome to tip as you like if you want to share in my craziness.

Talk to me.

Hey, friends. I've gotten out of the habit of doing cream scones, so here are two.

One Cookies and Cream SOLD (I know, Oreos are some kind of weird petroleum product, but they're also delicious, and magical things happen when you bake with them.)

One Dark Chocolate Tart Cherry. SOLD A very cool combo.

On the buttermilk front, there are two (TWO!) Macadamia White Chocolate available. ONE LEFT

Oh, and I have two orders (12 pieces each) of Lemon Bars, because it seemed like a summery thing to do. SOLD

Let me know if you need anything.
